summarised lore
hakuu, a rainy spirit, awoke one day with no former memories, and found themselves in the midst of an unknown world that they've named "Rainy Isle". armed with a strangely indestructible logbook and a (unsponsored) microphone, they strive to figure out the mysterious phenomena occurring in this strange place with endless rain, and communicate with this world through the power of music.this project, shrouded in much mystery, is only known by a vague identifier: "Project Cloudseed".unbeknownst to hakuu, this is actually a rehabilitation program in an controlled environment, but "glitches" started appearing due to their fragile mental state, plunging hakuu into strange scenarios involving the "inhabitants" of these glitched worlds and their troubles.follow the journey through hakuu’s lens, piecing together the bits of their memory and learning the countless troubles plaguing the world.
format
the story will be told through hakuu's journal entries provided from time to time, detailing the story behind each "glitch" (essentially, the theme of a song cover) that hakuu experiences from their perspective.this is meant to represent my own interpretation of the songs i cover. i plan to provide short writings only for certain covers i really enjoyed making!the writings can be viewed in the stormy scribbles link below! :]
goals
honestly this is more like a form of self-journaling than a real fully fleshed story but i figured it’d be fun to also write lore of my persona?? i guess a journey of both hakuu the character and the youtaite in a combined medium helps me continue to have fun and think of more ways to express myself!by interacting and joining me on covers and stuff, you’ve already unwittingly made yourself a part of this rainy spirit’s journey! ^^
terminology
► Ecosystem "White Rain"/"Rainy Isle": The environment that hakuu is placed in. Designed to rehabilitate individuals in mental distress, but shown to be highly susceptible to odd glitches triggered by emotions.► Downpour District: A small city on Rainy Isle. Contains many strange ghostly residents but is often peaceful and quiet. hakuu sets up base here in the story.► Project Cloudseed: The name of the rehabilitation project involving hakuu. The two main goals are to manage their distress stemming from events of the past and regain confidence in themselves.► Parallax Distortion:

The official name given to a glitch that occurs on Rainy Isle. hakuu refers to them simply as a “weird/strange phenomenon”. The key features of a parallax distortion are:
- A distorted change in the environment within a certain parameter.
- Features one or more main “resident(s)”, which are the identity of the phenomenon. They often experience some kind of distress.
- Inescapable until either: (a) the scenario is resolved by hakuu, or (b) the emotions of the resident(s) is fully understood by hakuu.Upon resolution, the world returns back to normal. hakuu records a song to express the emotions of the event.► Asynchronous Reverberation:

The official name given to glitches that occur in the dimension between ecosystems. hakuu refers to them as "dimensional ripples". Its features are similar to that of a Parallax Distortion, but as it is more dangerous, multiple individuals (other ytts :0) are warped from their own ecosystems to help resolve the glitch alongside hakuu.Upon resolution, a song is produced with everyone's efforts. Available from Chapter 1 onwards.
